The National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP) has announced a price increase for sachet water, effective Monday, April 6, 2026, citing rising production costs and global supply disruptions.
Under the new guidelines, a 30-pack of 500ml sachets will have an ex-factory price of GHS8, an ex-truck price of GHS10, and a maximum retail price of GHS15. The Association emphasized that these rates are recommendations intended to guide producers, distributors, and retailers.
NASPAWAP explained that the price adjustment is primarily due to a global shortage of polymers, a critical material used in sachet packaging, compounded by geopolitical tensions, including conflict in Iran, which have disrupted supply chains and increased costs.
Producers are urging both retailers and consumers to adhere to the new pricing structure to maintain fairness and stability in the market. The Association also thanked the public for their understanding, stressing that the adjustment is necessary to ensure continued operations amid rising cost pressures.
