The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has intensified its warning to the public over unlicensed investment operations, naming 23 entities it says are illegally promoting investment products through social media and online platforms.
In a public notice issued on July 22, 2026, the Commission said the listed entities are not authorised to conduct capital market activities in Ghana.
The SEC said operating an investment business without a licence violates Section 3 of the Securities Industry Act, 2016 (Act 929), as amended.
The entities named are:

The Commission said it is working with law enforcement agencies to identify and take action against individuals behind the entities and the investment schemes they are promoting.
It has therefore urged the public to exercise caution and avoid committing funds to investment products offered by the listed entities.
The SEC also advised prospective investors to verify the licensing status of any company offering investment services before making financial commitments.
Members of the public may confirm whether an investment firm is licensed by contacting the SEC on its toll-free line, 0800 100065, its main lines 0302 768970-2, or via [email protected].
The notice was issued under Sections 3 and 208(c) of the Securities Industry Act, 2016 (Act 929), as amended.
