Personnel of Ghana’s security services are set to receive their outstanding rent allowances for the first nine months of 2026 following approval by the Finance Minister, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson.
The approval covers three quarters of rent allowances from January to September 2026, according to the Press Secretary at the Ministry of the Interior, Julius Kwame Anthony.
Mr Anthony announced the development in a Facebook post on Wednesday, October 7, saying the necessary validation processes had been completed by the various security agencies and the Ministry of the Interior.
He said the completion of the validation exercise had paved the way for the Controller and Accountant-General’s Department to process the payments.
“I can confirm that the Minister for Finance, Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson, has approved the payment of three quarters of rent allowances, covering January to September, to personnel of the security services,” he said.
The approval is expected to clear the way for personnel of the security services to receive the rent allowances outstanding for the first nine months of the year.
The payment follows the completion of the administrative and validation requirements by the relevant security agencies and the Interior Ministry.
