The State Interests and Governance Authority (SIGA) has publicly disassociated itself from the upcoming 10th Ghana CEO Summit & Expo, stating that it has neither authorised nor entered into any partnership agreement with CEO Network Ghana, also known as Chief Executives Network Ghana.
In a statement issued in Accra on Thursday, May 21, SIGA said it had observed that the organisers of the event were using the Authority’s name and institutional identity in promotional materials, portraying SIGA as a “collaborating partner.”
The Authority described the representation as unauthorised, misleading and inconsistent with the facts, stressing that no formal relationship or agreement existed between the two institutions regarding the event.
According to SIGA, it had formally objected to the use of its name and logo and requested the immediate removal of all references linking the Authority to the summit. However, the organisers had allegedly failed to comply, compelling SIGA to issue a public disclaimer.
The Authority emphasised that under the State Interests and Governance Authority Act, 2019 (Act 990), all partnerships and external engagements involving SIGA must go through formal approval processes and be backed by documented agreements.
“SIGA upholds transparency, institutional integrity and due process in all engagements and partnerships,” the statement noted.
The Authority further cautioned the public, potential sponsors, exhibitors and participants against interpreting the use of SIGA’s name or logo in any promotional campaign as an endorsement of the 10th Ghana CEO Summit & Expo.
SIGA also appealed to media organisations and broadcasting platforms airing advertisements or promotional materials for the event to take note of the disclaimer and refrain from presenting the Authority as an affiliated institution or collaborating partner.
The statement reiterated SIGA’s commitment to transparent and properly constituted engagements that support Ghana’s economic development agenda.
The disclaimer was issued by the Corporate Affairs Unit of SIGA, which advised the public to contact the Authority directly for further clarification on the matter.
