Six juveniles from Aggrey Memorial Senior High School have been arrested for allegedly assaulting and robbing a fellow student from Adisadel College in Cape Coast.
The incident occurred at Pedu Junction on the evening of Friday, February 20, as Master Rexford Owusu-Ansah, a final-year student at Adisadel College, and two friends were returning from the Cape Coast Sports Stadium after the inter-colleges’ sports festival. While two of the victims escaped, Master Owusu-Ansah was reportedly caught, beaten, and robbed of his iPhone 17 Pro Max, shoes, and GH¢1,400.
He was initially treated at the stadium clinic before being referred to the Cape Coast Regional Hospital, where medical reports confirmed a fractured nerve bone in his right eye and severe swelling, with the eyeball nearly dislodged.
The students were handed over to the Kotokuraba Police Station by school authorities on the same evening. The Central Regional Police Command condemned the attack and assured the public that the offenders would face justice.
Police have emphasized the need for heightened vigilance around school routes and are investigating the circumstances that led to the violent confrontation, underscoring efforts to protect students from similar attacks in the region.
