Former **Solomon Owusu**, a leading member of the **Movement for Change** and former member of the **New Patriotic Party (NPP)**, has urged Ghanaians to maintain constant attention on corruption in order to address the issue effectively.
Owusu’s comments come in response to the **Auditor-General’s** report, which highlighted what he described as a “systemic plunder” of Ghana’s public financial management system.
Speaking on **TV3** and monitored by **MyNewsGh**, Owusu said the public often focuses on corruption scandals briefly before moving on to other topics.
“Ever since the 2024 election ended, anytime I have come here I have spoken about corruption, and that is deliberate,” he said, adding that public discussions about the issue typically last only a few months.
He stressed that for meaningful accountability, corruption must remain at the center of national discourse. “In fact, every day your topic must be corruption,” he said.
Owusu called on citizens, media, and civil society to continue scrutinizing the findings in the Auditor-General’s report, noting that temporary outrage is insufficient to tackle the scale of irregularities uncovered.
“This morning, that is where my focus will be,” he said, emphasising the need for sustained attention to ensure that systemic issues in public financial management are addressed.
