The management of Sunyani Senior High School (SUSEC) has allocated one acre of land for the construction of a modern clinic, a major infrastructure project spearheaded by the 1999 year group of the school’s alumni association.
The project forms part of the ‘SUSEC Year of Return 2027’ initiative unveiled by SOSA ’99, aimed at mobilising resources from old students both in Ghana and abroad to support the development of the school. The proposed clinic is expected to improve healthcare delivery for the school’s over 4,000 students.
Speaking during a site visit, the Organiser of the committee overseeing the project, Miss Millicent Kuma, indicated that construction is set to begin soon and is expected to be completed within 12 months. She explained that the project reflects the alumni’s commitment to giving back and enhancing the overall academic environment to support effective teaching and learning.
Miss Kuma emphasised the urgent need for a dedicated health facility on campus, noting that the growing student population requires improved access to quality medical care. She also commended members of the 1999 year group for their financial contributions towards the initiative.
The Headmaster of SUSEC, Mr. Gordon Osei Marfo, praised the alumni’s vision and expressed optimism that the project would be executed promptly to address the school’s healthcare needs.
The planned clinic is expected to become a lasting legacy project under the ‘Year of Return 2027’ celebrations, strengthening ties between the school and its alumni while contributing to student welfare.
