VFS Global has reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring secure, transparent and applicant-focused visa processing services in Ghana amid rising outbound travel demand, particularly among students, families, corporate travellers and organised groups.
The assurance was given during a visit by the company’s Regional Leadership Team to Ghana, where officials engaged media organisations as part of efforts to deepen stakeholder collaboration and improve public awareness on safe visa application practices.
The engagement forms part of VFS Global’s broader strategy to strengthen trust in its services, which are delivered on behalf of several client governments as an administrative partner in the visa application process.
Speaking during the visit, Mr Prashant Kansara, Regional Head for Central and West Africa at VFS Global, stressed that trust and security remain central to visa facilitation services.
He cautioned applicants against engaging with fraudulent intermediaries who claim they can secure faster appointments, guarantee visa approvals, or accelerate processing in exchange for payment.
“Trust is central to the visa application experience. At VFS Global, our role is to provide applicants with a secure, transparent and well-managed administrative process on behalf of our client governments,” he said.
Mr Kansara reiterated that visa approval decisions are solely the prerogative of sovereign governments and cannot be influenced by third parties or agents.
He urged applicants in Ghana to rely strictly on official VFS Global communication platforms, avoid intermediaries, and plan applications early, especially during peak travel periods when demand is high.
To curb fraud and protect applicants, he said the company had intensified its security and verification systems, including OTP-based appointment booking, application reference validation, anti-fraud messaging, and controlled access to visa application centres strictly for verified applicants.
He further advised the public to confirm all information through official channels, warning that fraudsters often impersonate the company using fake websites, social media accounts, and unofficial contact numbers to exploit unsuspecting travellers.
Mr Kansara noted a growing demand for organised group visa application services among students, educational institutions, corporate bodies, sports teams, families and official delegations requiring coordinated processing arrangements.
He said the trend reflects increased mobility and structured travel planning, but also requires stricter adherence to official procedures to avoid delays and fraud risks.
During the engagement, he cited positive feedback from the Office of the Paramount Chief of the Gbese Traditional Area, the late Gbese Mantse Nii (Dr) Ayi-Bonte II, Adonten of the Ga State, which commended VFS Global’s services during visa facilitation for a delegation that attended the Gbese Mantse Homowo Festival and Business Summit in the Netherlands in September 2025.
The traditional authority praised the company’s mobile visa collection service, professionalism and cultural sensitivity, describing the experience as seamless and unprecedented for members of the delegation.
VFS Global said it will continue working with stakeholders in Ghana to promote secure, efficient and transparent visa application systems while strengthening public education on fraud prevention and safe travel documentation practices.
