Chief Executive Officer of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA), Malik Basintale, has pushed back against what he describes as a fresh wave of misinformation targeting his health.
Social media platforms, particularly accounts affiliated with the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP), had circulated claims alleging that the YEA boss had suffered a serious illness and had been flown abroad for treatment.
Basintale, however, dismissed the rumours outright. In a brief but pointed Facebook post, he urged the public to disregard the speculation, stressing that he is in good health and remains fully active at post.
“Kurugu Toli: ton ton je!! Ignore the false news🔥 No stroke, No UK!” he wrote, suggesting the claims were politically motivated and part of a deliberate attempt to create panic or confusion.
The YEA CEO’s reaction adds to growing concerns about the proliferation of unverified reports on social media, especially ahead of key national conversations surrounding governance and public accountability.
