The Chief Executive Officer of the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital 🏥 (KATH) Professor Dr. Otchere Addai-Mensah has commended the management and staff members of the premier facility for displaying bouts of competences and hard work throughout the year 2024.

Speaking at the end of year thanksgiving, long service and best staff awards ceremony last Friday, the CEO said by their commitment and sacrifices, the staff of the hospital have worked to change the negative narrative that previously was associated with operations at the premier health facility.

The CEO stated the determination of Management to pursue excellence and innovation in administering care and support to the hospital’s patients, clients and visitors.

“As we reflect on the year 2024, I am filled with immense gratitude and joy for the success and growth KATH has experienced. It has been a year of progress, transformation, and achievements, and none of this would have been possible without the grace of God and the unwavering support of our dedicated stakeholders”, the CEO intimated.

Advancements:
The CEO said KATH with the support of the Asantehene, the government, and other partners and through the judicious use of Internally Generated Funds (IGF) of the hospital undertook a number of initiatives to improve the infrastructure base and service delivery at the hospital.

Notable among these initiative, he stated was the commencement of the comprehensive renovation and modernization of the “GEE” blocks under the Asantehene’s Heal Komfo Anokye Project (HeKAP).

The CEO also mentioned the renovation and upgrading of the hospital’s main theatre as a great achievement in 2024.

Prof Addai-Mensah pointed to the revitalization and expansion of the Dialysis Centre as another important feat.

“The hospital introduced a new service to provide prompt laboratory services to the public through the establishment of a Short Turn Around Time (STAT) Laboratory at the Family Medicine Directorate. This laboratory enables us to provide rapid test results for urgent cases, reducing waiting times and enhancing the overall patient experience”, the CEO additionally disclosed.

Awards:
Later at the event the Management honoured some selected members of staff for their outstanding contributions to raising the standards of excellence at the hospital.

Giving the rationale behind the awards after thanking Messers Joshob and Justmoh Construction Limited for their support, Prof Addai-Mensah said it has been through the dedication, innovation, leadership, and hard work of the awardees that KATH had reached new heights.
