Nine-year-old Ghanaian performer and humanitarian Maameyaa Wells is using music to promote positive values among young people with the release of her debut six-track EP.
The young artiste’s first extended project combines entertainment with messages on perseverance, unity, self-worth and responsible behaviour, reflecting her growing involvement in both the creative and humanitarian spaces.
The EP features six songs: “Be Content,” “Im Money,” “Stay Hard,” “Cyber Bullying,” “Together We Stand” and “Backbiting.”
Rather than focusing solely on conventional themes associated with contemporary music, the project tackles issues that affect children and young people, including cyberbullying, negativity, perseverance and the importance of being content with what one has.
The track “Cyber Bullying,” for instance, draws attention to the challenges young people face in the digital environment, while “Together We Stand” promotes unity and collective responsibility.
Other songs on the project encourage resilience and a positive outlook in the face of difficulties and negative influences.
The release marks a significant step in Maameyaa Wells’ development as an artiste, adding music to a portfolio that already includes dancing and stage performances.
At only nine years old, she has taken on the challenge of producing and releasing a complete six-track project, an achievement that places her among Ghana’s youngest performers to venture into the EP format.
Her artistic activities also complement her humanitarian interests. Through the Wells Aid Foundation, Maameyaa has been involved in initiatives aimed at supporting people and communities in need.
The combination of entertainment and advocacy has increasingly become part of her public identity, with her music providing another platform through which she can communicate messages to her generation.
The debut EP is now available on major digital music platforms, giving listeners an opportunity to experience the young artiste’s emerging musical style and the values behind her work.
With her first project now released, Maameyaa Wells joins a growing number of young Ghanaian talents seeking to combine creativity with social messaging while building careers in the entertainment industry.
