Ghana’s Ministry of Energy and Green Transition has reinforced its partnership with the West African Gas Pipeline Company (WAPCo), emphasizing collaboration to support the nation’s energy security and sustainable development goals.
Minister John Abdulai Jinapor hosted a delegation led by WAPCo’s newly appointed Managing Director, Abiodun Bodunrin, who succeeds Ms. Michelle Burket. The discussions centered on strategic areas of cooperation, with a particular focus on ensuring a reliable gas supply to meet Ghana’s growing energy demands.
During the meeting, Mr. Bodunrin pledged WAPCo’s continued support for Ghana’s energy transition, committing to efficiency and stability in the gas sector while exploring opportunities to strengthen collaboration with the government.
Minister Jinapor welcomed the new MD and highlighted WAPCo’s vital role in the country’s energy landscape. “Our collaboration with WAPCo has been instrumental in meeting Ghana’s energy needs, and it will remain a cornerstone as we advance sustainable energy solutions,” he said.
The engagement underscores the government’s ongoing efforts to secure reliable energy infrastructure while fostering partnerships that promote both national development and regional energy stability.
