Former Deputy Executive Director of the National Service Scheme (NSS), Gifty Oware-Mensah, has been questioned by the National Investigations Bureau (NIB) as part of ongoing efforts to uncover alleged irregularities within the Scheme.
Oware-Mensah was reportedly taken in for questioning on Friday, March 7, and released the following day after cooperating with investigators. While details of her involvement remain unclear, sources suggest she may be recalled for further questioning as the probe continues.
Her role in the financial and administrative operations of the NSS has drawn interest as authorities dig deeper into allegations of ghost names on the Scheme’s payroll. However, no formal charges have been filed against her, and she has yet to make a public statement on the matter.
The investigation is part of broader attempts to address financial mismanagement within state institutions, with stakeholders keenly watching how the case unfolds.
