The U.S. Embassy in Ghana has moved to ease mounting visa pressure by releasing more than 2,000 additional appointment slots for B1/B2 applicants over the next two weeks.
The latest expansion, announced Wednesday, March 4, 2026, on X, follows an earlier release of over 1,000 non-immigrant visa interview slots aimed at helping applicants secure earlier dates.
The embassy indicated that the new openings are targeted at travelers seeking entry to the United States for business engagements, family visits, tourism, and attendance at major global events such as the upcoming FIFA World Cup.
Applicants who already have interview dates scheduled for later in the year are being encouraged to log into the appointment system and reschedule to earlier available slots.
The move comes at a time of heightened demand for U.S. visas in Ghana, driven by increased business travel, leisure trips, and international sporting activities. Prospective travelers have been advised to visit the embassy’s official visa portal for further details on eligibility and booking procedures.
