The Bono East Regional Command of the Narcotics Control Commission Ghana has arrested six suspects during a targeted anti-drug operation in Donkor-Nkwanta in the Nkoranza South District.
The operation, dubbed “Operation Clean Street,” was carried out on Friday, March 27, 2026, as part of ongoing efforts to clamp down on the distribution and abuse of illicit drugs, particularly among young people, and to restore safety in high-risk communities.
The suspects have been identified as Ismael Tahiru, Edward Adai, Opoku Kwame, Benjamin Atinga, Isaac Antwi, and Emmanuel Brobbey, all aged between 20 and 23 years.
A search conducted during the operation led to the retrieval of substances suspected to be cannabis and other synthetic drugs.
Items seized included quantities of tramadol, cannabis in various forms, rolling papers, and other paraphernalia, as well as a motorcycle and sharp objects.
All six suspects are currently in custody and assisting with investigations, while the seized items have been secured for further analysis and evidential purposes.
The Bono East Regional Command of NACOC says it remains committed to intensifying intelligence-led operations to dismantle drug trafficking networks and curb substance abuse across communities in the region.
The Commission has also urged the public to support its efforts by providing timely and credible information to aid in the fight against illicit drug activities.
