The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer and former Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has engaged European Union ambassadors in Accra in discussions aimed at deepening economic cooperation and expanding investment ties between Ghana and Europe.
The high-level breakfast meeting brought together Heads of Mission from 10 EU member states, including Austria, the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Hungary, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain, and Malta, alongside a delegation from the European Union.
In a social media post on Tuesday, April 21, Dr Bawumia described the engagement as “constructive and forward-looking,” noting that it provided an opportunity to exchange views on areas of mutual interest.
Key issues discussed included regional security cooperation, strengthening economic relations, and exploring new avenues for investment in Ghana.
He reiterated his commitment to advancing policies that strengthen Ghana’s democratic governance, promote sustainable economic development, and ensure inclusive social progress.
Dr Bawumia said these priorities remain central to his broader development vision, adding that stronger partnerships with international allies such as the European Union are critical to achieving long-term national growth.
