With the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) drawing closer, Member of Parliament for Krachi East, Mr Nelson Kofi Djabab, is rolling out a major support package for candidates across the municipality.
The MP is set to distribute 1,900 mathematical sets, toiletries, and sachets of water to final-year Junior High School students preparing to sit for the national examination.
The intervention will benefit all registered BECE candidates in both public and private schools in the Krachi East Municipality, ensuring that students are adequately equipped ahead of the exams.
According to Mr Djabab, the initiative is aimed at removing barriers that could affect students’ performance, particularly for families struggling with the increasing cost of educational materials.
He explained that while the mathematical sets would help candidates during Mathematics and technical drawing papers, the toiletries and drinking water are intended to promote hygiene, comfort, and overall well-being throughout the examination period.
Mr Djabab described education as a critical tool for transforming lives and accelerating development in the constituency, stressing that his office would continue to prioritise programmes that improve learning outcomes.
He encouraged candidates to remain focused and committed to their studies, urging them to make the most of the opportunity and strive for academic excellence.
The initiative has been welcomed by parents and education stakeholders, who say the support comes at a crucial time when many households are grappling with rising living costs.
The distribution exercise is expected to take place before the start of the 2026 BECE and will reach schools across all electoral areas in the municipality.
The latest intervention adds to a growing list of educational support programmes championed by the MP to improve academic performance and expand access to quality education in Krachi East.
