Kwame Governs Agbodza has defended the Ministry’s late-night road inspection tours, insisting that government officials must work beyond sunset to ensure road projects stay on schedule.
Speaking during an inspection tour in Saboba on Sunday, May 24, 2026, the Roads and Highways Minister said road monitoring exercises are driven by targets and not limited by the time of day.
“Well, we work at night. We still eat at night and do everything at night, so sunset does not mean we should stop working,” he stated.
Mr Agbodza explained that many contractors continue construction activities throughout the night, making it necessary for inspection teams to also operate beyond regular working hours.
“Some contractors are working at night while others work during the day, so we work to target. Until the target is achieved, sunset or sunrise is not a hindrance,” he added.
The minister noted that the inspection teams are determined to complete their daily schedules in order to effectively supervise ongoing projects and ensure contractors meet expected timelines.
Mr Agbodza has been leading road inspection tours across parts of northern Ghana as part of efforts to monitor infrastructure projects and accelerate delivery under the government’s road development programme.
