The President of Ghana has nominated several individuals to serve as District Chief Executives (DCEs) in various districts across the country, pending approval by their respective District Assemblies. This move is in line with Article 243 of the 1992 Constitution and the Local Governance Act, 2016 (Act 936), as amended.
The nominations span multiple regions, including Volta, Oti, Ahafo, Bono, Bono East, Savannah, North East, and Western North. Among the notable nominees are Stephen Adom for Ho, Nicholas Kwabla for Ketu South, Dr. Sam Suraj Issaka for Akan in the Oti Region, and Joseph Akparibo for Asunafo North in Ahafo.
These nominees, once confirmed, will assume leadership roles in their respective districts, overseeing local governance, development initiatives, and public service administration. Their confirmation by District Assemblies will be crucial in ensuring smooth governance at the district level.
The nominations reflect the government’s commitment to strengthening local governance structures and fostering development across the country.
