The chiefs and people of Adaklu Kodzobi have taken stock of ongoing development projects and outlined new priorities for the community following their fifth town hall meeting.
The gathering highlighted significant progress on key infrastructure projects, including a GETFund-funded three-unit classroom block with a staff common room, headteacher’s office, and a six-unit teachers’ bungalow aimed at improving educational facilities and teacher accommodation.
Addressing residents, Chief of Adaklu Kodzobi, Togbe Dzegblade IV, said the monthly forum serves as a platform to assess development achievements, discuss community concerns, and plan future interventions.
He revealed that a one-storey community centre is nearing completion and will house offices for the Environmental Health Unit and the Town Development Committee.
The Chief also announced that construction of a modern ICT laboratory and library complex for the local school is about halfway complete. The project is being financed through support from the family of former UK Chief Education Officer Mr Eric Earl, Ghana School Aid, and the traditional leadership.
Togbe Dzegblade appealed to old students and residents to support efforts to fence the community’s basic school to enhance security and protect educational facilities.
As part of efforts to strengthen local governance, he disclosed plans to establish a new 21-member Town Development Committee later this year, with specialised sub-committees focusing on areas such as education, health, sanitation, finance, and infrastructure.
He also announced a temporary amnesty on development levies for residents and non-residents, excluding festival-related charges, to encourage wider participation in community development.
The Chief commended residents for their commitment to sanitation exercises and donated GH¢10,000 towards ongoing development initiatives, while urging the community to remain united in advancing the area’s growth.
