Ghana has intensified efforts to attract international investment, with senior economic leaders presenting the country as a stabilising and reform-driven economy open to global capital and long-term partnerships.

The message was delivered by the Minister for Finance, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, and the Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama, during a high-level breakfast meeting in London organised by the Ghana International Bank (GHIB) in collaboration with the Ghana High Commission to the United Kingdom and Ireland.

The engagement, held alongside the Ghana–UK Investment Summit, brought together global investors, bankers, policymakers, and financial institutions based in the City of London, one of the world’s leading financial centres.

Dr Forson outlined ongoing economic reforms aimed at restoring macroeconomic stability, strengthening public financial management, and rebuilding investor confidence following recent fiscal adjustments and debt restructuring efforts.

He told investors that Ghana’s policy direction is focused on stabilisation and long-term transformation, positioning the country for sustained growth and improved economic resilience.

According to him, the government is implementing structural reforms designed to ensure fiscal discipline while creating a more predictable environment for investment.

He presented Ghana as a country actively repositioning itself for global capital inflows, stressing that the reform process is intended to create both stability and opportunity.

The Finance Minister also underscored the role of financial institutions such as GHIB in connecting Ghana and the wider African economy to international markets, describing them as important channels for cross-border trade and investment flows.

Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama, Governor of the Bank of Ghana, reinforced the government’s message by highlighting regulatory and policy measures aimed at strengthening the resilience of the financial sector.

He noted that the central bank’s reforms are intended to ensure transparency, stability, and predictability in the financial system, which are key conditions for attracting foreign investment.

Dr Asiama, who also chairs the Board of GHIB, identified agriculture, energy, infrastructure, and digital innovation as priority sectors with strong potential for international investment.

He said strategic deployment of global capital into these sectors could significantly accelerate Ghana’s development agenda and enhance economic diversification.

Both officials emphasised that Ghana remains committed to maintaining a stable macroeconomic environment while deepening engagement with global investors to support long-term growth and development objectives.
