Ghana and Canada are preparing to strengthen economic relations as investors, policymakers, business executives and development partners converge in Toronto for the 2026 Ghana-Canada Investment Forum.
The high-level meeting, scheduled for June 15, 2026, at the Westin Harbour Castle Conference Centre in Ontario, is expected to serve as a major platform for advancing trade, investment collaboration and Ghana’s broader economic transformation agenda.
Organisers say the forum will highlight opportunities under Ghana’s 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Programme (24H+), with a focus on industrial growth, export expansion, job creation and productivity enhancement.
The event is being convened by the GHFA Global Investment Forum Initiative in partnership with Strategic Communications Africa Limited (Stratcomm Africa) and Kwakaf International, a Toronto-based events company.
It is also being organised in collaboration with the 24-Hour Economy Secretariat and the Ghana Tourism Authority, bringing together stakeholders from both countries to explore areas of mutual economic benefit and deepen bilateral cooperation.
A key feature of the forum will be a “Deal Room Session” led by ThirdWay Capital and The Asili Initiative, designed to connect investors directly with Ghanaian and Canadian enterprises seeking partnerships and funding opportunities.
The session is expected to showcase bankable projects and facilitate strategic agreements that support sustainable economic growth.
The statement announcing the forum noted that Universal Merchant Bank is the lead sponsor, supporting efforts to mobilise investment and promote entrepreneurship. Other partners include the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation and ThirdWay Capital.
Several high-profile personalities are expected to participate, including Chief of Staff Julius Debrah as Special Guest of Honour, Ga Mantse His Royal Majesty King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II as chair of the event, and Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs Gyakye Quayson, who will deliver the keynote address.
Organisers say the forum will also take advantage of the global attention surrounding the FIFA World Cup period to enhance networking opportunities and attract a wider international audience.
Founder and CEO of Stratcomm Africa, Esther A. N. Cobbah, described the initiative as a continuation of long-standing relations between Ghana and Canada, expressing optimism that it will open new avenues for collaboration.
She noted that the timing of the forum, coinciding with Ghana’s participation in the World Cup period, presents additional opportunities for visibility and engagement on the global stage.
The forum is expected to conclude with strengthened commitments between Ghanaian and Canadian stakeholders to expand trade relations, promote investment flows and support long-term economic cooperation between the two countries.
