Accra Hearts of Oak have begun preparations for a fresh era by appointing Serbian coach Nebojsa Kapor as the club’s new head coach on a two-year contract.
The appointment forms part of the club’s efforts to rebuild its technical structure and return to the top of Ghanaian football while also competing strongly on the continental stage.
According to the club’s Board of Directors, Kapor emerged as the preferred candidate after an extensive recruitment process focused on finding a coach capable of delivering competitive, attacking football while promoting discipline and youth development.
The UEFA-licensed coach brings considerable experience of Ghanaian football to the role, having previously managed Tema Youth FC, Bechem United FC and Medeama SC.
His knowledge of the Ghana Premier League, coupled with his tactical approach and emphasis on progressive football, were among the factors that influenced the club’s decision to appoint him.
Hearts of Oak said Kapor’s arrival is the first of several technical changes expected in the coming weeks as the club steps up preparations for the 2026/27 season.
The Board expressed confidence that the Serbian coach has the leadership qualities and technical expertise required to provide stability and lay the foundation for sustained success.
The club also called on its supporters and members to give their full backing to Kapor and the technical team as they seek to restore Hearts of Oak to the summit of Ghanaian and African football.
The new coach has been welcomed to the club, with the Board wishing him success in his new assignment.
