The second batch of recruits into the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) has begun a six-month Basic Military Training programme, marking the start of an intensive process to prepare them for military service.
The recruits reported to designated training centres on Friday, October 23, 2026, across the Army, Air Force and Navy, as well as the Armour Training School and Army Special Operations Training School.
The training is expected to equip the recruits with the discipline, practical skills and professional standards required to serve in the military.
During the six-month programme, they will receive instruction in key military subjects, including fieldcraft, first aid, weapon handling, drill, map reading and physical training.
The curriculum is designed to build their physical fitness, operational competence and understanding of military discipline while familiarising them with the core values and traditions of the Ghana Armed Forces.
The programme will also lay the foundation for the recruits’ future responsibilities within the military, preparing them to meet the demands associated with service in the Army, Air Force and Navy.
Their reporting for training marks a major milestone in their journey towards becoming professional military personnel, with successful completion of the programme expected to prepare them for the next stages of their military careers.
