Media personality and entertainment pundit Abena Moet has questioned the composition of Ghana’s Black Stars squad, expressing concern over what she described as the inclusion of “Dada Ba” players in the national team.
Speaking during UTV’s United Showbiz, Abena Moet argued that the current Black Stars setup no longer reflects the competitive standards Ghanaians expect, insisting that player selection should be based strictly on merit and performance.
She wondered why certain players continue to receive national team call-ups despite what she believes are underwhelming performances, asking, “Why are ‘Dada Bs’ in the Black Stars squad?”
The entertainment pundit also claimed that public enthusiasm for the senior national team has significantly declined, attributing the situation to disappointing performances and controversial selection decisions.
According to her, many Ghanaians have become disconnected from the Black Stars, with some losing confidence in the team’s ability to compete at the highest level.
Abena Moet further suggested that the country’s football authorities should critically review the team’s structure and selection process to restore supporters’ confidence.
Her comments come in the wake of growing public debate over the performance of the Black Stars following Ghana’s recent campaign at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where discussions about the team’s quality and future direction have intensified.
The remarks have generated mixed reactions on social media, with some football fans agreeing that the national team requires a major overhaul, while others have defended the players and technical team, arguing that rebuilding the Black Stars will require patience and long-term planning.
