Two suspects accused of a violent armed robbery at Franco Estate in Kwabenya have been remanded by the Accra Circuit Court 8, while a third suspect remains on bail and a fourth is on the run.
Anthony Boateng, also known as “Aisha Kojo,” aged 24, and Francis Amoh, alias “Agogo,” aged 23, were remanded after denying charges of conspiracy, unlawful entry, and robbery involving valuables belonging to businessman Mohammed Razak.
A third accused person, Musah Ibrahim, also known as “Coded,” aged 30, was granted bail and is facing allegations of dishonestly receiving stolen items. A fourth suspect, Felix Addo, alias “Adjei,” is currently at large and being pursued by police.
According to the prosecution, led by Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Issah Achiburi, the complainant, a businessman residing at Franco Estate in Kwabenya, was attacked in the early hours of January 18, 2026.
The court heard that the accused persons allegedly broke into the victim’s residence around 3:00 a.m. after damaging an electric fence and security door. They were said to be armed with a pistol, machete, cutter, and torchlight.
One of the suspects allegedly held the complainant at gunpoint while the other ransacked the house, making away with several items including gold jewellery valued at GH¢11,000, an Apple wristwatch valued at GH¢7,000, and two iPhone 17 Pro Max devices valued at GH¢18,500 and GH¢7,500 respectively.
Other stolen items reportedly included a Mercedes-Benz C300 car key valued at GH¢40,000, along with cash amounts of USD 700 and GH¢14,000. The prosecution further alleged that the victim was forced at gunpoint to remove the iCloud security from one of the phones before it was taken.
Investigators told the court that the suspects later sold parts of the stolen property to Ibrahim and the fleeing accomplice, Addo. Police say intelligence-led operations led to the arrest of Boateng and Amoh at Agbogbloshie, where officers retrieved items including a phone, cutlass, scissors, chains, and a cutter.
Further investigations reportedly linked Ibrahim to the purchase of an Apple device and wristwatch, while gold jewellery was traced to the fugitive suspect.
The court refused bail applications for Boateng and Amoh and ordered them to reappear on June 10, 2026, as police continue efforts to arrest the remaining suspect and conclude investigations.
