Pupils of the Adaklu Kodzobi District Assembly Basic School are set to benefit from improved digital learning following the donation of four laptop computers by the Chief of Adaklu Kodzobi, Togbe Dzegblade IV.
The laptops, valued at approximately GH¢40,000, were presented during a ceremony at the school as part of the chief’s efforts to promote digital literacy and enhance academic performance among pupils.
Presenting the computers, Togbe Dzegblade IV said the donation was his contribution towards preparing young learners for success in an increasingly technology-driven world.
He described the gesture as his “widow’s mite” to support the school’s efforts to equip pupils with essential digital skills that would enable them to excel academically and remain competitive in the modern era.
The traditional ruler also stressed the importance of education, encouraging parents to make every effort to invest in their children’s schooling despite financial challenges.
According to him, the long-term benefits of quality education far outweigh the sacrifices parents make today, adding that education remains one of the most valuable investments for any child.
To further strengthen ICT education at the school, Togbe Dzegblade IV announced plans to donate six additional computers in the near future. He also appealed to individuals, corporate organisations and members of the Adaklu Kodzobi community to support the school’s ICT laboratory by contributing more computers and other learning resources.
Addressing the pupils, the chief urged them to remain focused on their studies, cultivate a strong reading culture and make productive use of their time.
He encouraged them to develop disciplined study habits, noting that consistent hard work and dedication are key ingredients for academic excellence.
Receiving the laptops on behalf of the Headteacher, teacher Mr. Patrick Anku expressed gratitude to the chief for the timely intervention.
He assured the donor that the computers would be properly maintained and used solely to improve teaching and learning, particularly in Information and Communication Technology (ICT), for the benefit of the pupils.
