Residents of Abease Krobo in the Pru West District of the Bono East Region are set to benefit from improved primary healthcare services following the commissioning of a renovated Community-based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) Compound by the Agyenim Boateng Foundation.
The upgraded facility, which has been officially handed over to the community, is expected to significantly enhance access to basic healthcare, particularly for residents who previously faced challenges seeking medical attention within the area.
Speaking at the handing-over ceremony, the Chief Executive Officer of the Foundation, Mr. Agyenim Boateng, explained that the intervention was in response to an appeal from the health facility, adding that the foundation remains committed to supporting similar initiatives that improve healthcare delivery in underserved communities.
He noted that the project aligns with the foundation’s broader mandate of empowering communities through targeted investments in health, education and youth development.
The Officer-in-Charge of the Abease Krobo CHPS Compound, Mr. Mborlana Andrews, welcomed the intervention, describing it as timely and impactful. He said the renovated facility would improve working conditions for health staff while also enhancing patient comfort and overall service delivery.
Community members present at the ceremony expressed appreciation to the foundation, noting that the improved CHPS compound would play a critical role in meeting the healthcare needs of the area.
The project highlights the growing role of private foundations in complementing government efforts to strengthen healthcare infrastructure at the grassroots level.
