Ghanaian rapper Amerado is set to take listeners through the highs and lows of his artistic journey with the release of his new eight-track EP, The Price Of Becoming, scheduled for August 28, 2026.
The project explores the less visible side of success, focusing on the sacrifices, setbacks, difficult choices and personal growth that have shaped Amerado’s evolution as an artist.
Rather than portraying success as a straightforward journey, the rapper uses the EP to reflect on the experiences and challenges that come with moving from one stage of life and career to another.
The project begins with its title track, The Price Of Becoming (Mpaebor), produced by IzJoe Beatz. The song establishes the central theme of the EP and introduces listeners to the mindset behind the project.
Amerado then explores a blend of Highlife and Afrobeats on tracks including Sika Mframa, Chacha, Obiaa Nte Mase, Fountain, featuring Nigerian musician Skales, and Keteke.
The variety of sounds allows the rapper to experiment with contemporary styles while maintaining a connection to the Ghanaian musical influences that have shaped his career.
Amerado also revisits his rap foundations on Return Of The Lunatic 2, produced by ItzCJ Madeit. The record places his lyricism and technical rap skills at the forefront of the project.
The EP closes with Pharaoh Remix, a reggae collaboration featuring Epixode and Ras Kuuku and produced by Shawerz Ebiem.
The track brings together three Ghanaian artistes associated with the reggae and dancehall space while giving the project a distinct musical conclusion.
Production across the EP includes contributions from established Ghanaian producers such as IzJoe Beatz, MOG Beatz, ItzCJ Madeit and Shawerz Ebiem.
The collaboration with Skales on Fountain also introduces a cross-border dimension to the project, adding a Nigerian voice to an EP largely grounded in Amerado’s Ghanaian musical identity.
Across its eight tracks, The Price Of Becoming moves through Highlife, Afrobeats, rap and reggae, with Amerado’s personal experiences remaining at the centre of the project.
The rapper presents the EP as more than a collection of songs, using it to examine the realities behind his growth and the sacrifices that have accompanied his journey.
With the August 28 release, Amerado is inviting listeners to look beyond the achievements and connect with the experiences, challenges and lessons that have shaped the artist he is still becoming.
