Bank of Ghana Second Deputy Governor, Matilda Asante-Asiedu, has been designated to represent Governor Dr Johnson Pandit Asiama on the Board of the Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod).
The arrangement, which took effect on May 11, 2026, authorises Mrs Asante-Asiedu to attend and fully participate in GoldBod Board meetings on behalf of the Governor.
In a letter communicating the decision, Dr Asiama said the appointment was intended to ensure that his interests as a member of the GoldBod Board were represented in its deliberations and activities.
Mrs Asante-Asiedu is also authorised to exercise the rights and responsibilities vested in the Governor as a member of the Board.
The Governor said the Second Deputy Governor had been duly nominated to represent his interests and contribute to discussions and decisions of the Board.
“I hereby appoint Mrs. Matilda Asante-Asiedu, Second Deputy Governor of the Bank of Ghana, as my authorised representative to attend and fully participate in all GoldBod Board Meetings on my behalf, effective Monday, May 11, 2026,” Dr Asiama stated in the letter.
He added that the arrangement would ensure effective representation of his interests in the operations and deliberations of the GoldBod Board.
The appointment places the Second Deputy Governor at the centre of the Bank of Ghana’s representation on the GoldBod Board, while Dr Asiama remains the substantive Governor and board member.
