Bibiani Gold Stars assistant communications and administrative manager, Joseph Oti Manu, has commended head coach Fritz Schmid for his leadership and impact since taking over earlier this season.
In an exclusive interview with Citi Sports ahead of the Premier League clash against Accra Hearts of Oak at Dun’s Park on Sunday, March 1, Oti Manu described Schmid as “really up for the task,” noting the German coach’s UEFA A License credentials and tactical expertise.
Schmid replaced Frimpong Manso following a surprising early-season dismissal and has since elevated Gold Stars from sixth/seventh place to second in the league standings, just three points behind leaders Medeama SC.
Oti Manu expressed optimism about the upcoming game, recalling that Gold Stars previously drew 1-1 with Hearts of Oak in Bibiani and insisting that a win this time would be historic. “Any slim win for Bibiani Gold Stars will do,” he said, emphasizing the team’s ambition to defend their league title successfully.
Hearts of Oak enter the encounter ranked fourth in the table, setting the stage for a pivotal showdown in the race for the Ghana Premier League crown.
