Ghana’s Black Stars delivered a dominant performance at the Accra Sports Stadium, crushing Chad 5-0 in their FIFA World Cup qualifier on Friday, March 21, 2025.
The emphatic victory propelled Ghana to the top of Group I with 12 points, ahead of teams like Madagascar, Mali, Comoros, and the Central African Republic.
The scoring spree began early, with Antoine Semenyo netting just two minutes into the game. Inaki Williams extended the lead in the 31st minute, before Captain Jordan Ayew calmly converted a penalty to put Ghana three goals ahead before halftime.
The second half saw Mohammed Salisu make it 4-0 just 11 minutes after the break, before Ernest Nuamah sealed the 5-0 rout in the 68th minute.
The convincing win offers a boost of confidence for Otto Addo’s side, especially after their disappointing run at the 2024 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco. With this result, the Black Stars look poised for a strong World Cup qualification campaign.
