The disappearance of 27-year-old Theophilus Ashitey Amarh has taken a troubling turn following the discovery of suspected bloodstains at a residence linked to the prime suspect.
The Ghana Police Service says the victim went missing after leaving home on April 6, 2026, to sell his Hyundai Elantra, after being connected to a potential buyer by Wisdom Tetteh.
A missing person report was filed the following day when he failed to return, prompting investigations by the Accra Regional Police Command.
Police say preliminary findings show the victim was last seen at the suspect’s residence in Saasabi, within the Oyibi enclave.
A major breakthrough came on April 10, when intelligence-led operations led officers back to the location, where suspected bloodstains were found inside a room—raising strong suspicions of foul play.
The scene has since been processed by the National Crime Scene Management Team, with support from the Anti-Armed Robbery Unit of the CID Headquarters, as part of efforts to gather forensic evidence.
Despite a coordinated search involving community members and local authorities, the victim has not yet been found.
Investigators now believe the suspect may have fled the country, with intelligence pointing to neighbouring Togo. Efforts are underway through INTERPOL to track and apprehend him.
Police have assured the public that investigations are ongoing and have appealed for credible information that could assist in locating the suspect and uncovering the circumstances surrounding the case.
The statement confirming these developments was signed by Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region.
