A strong call for ethical leadership and renewed Christian values marked this year’s Easter celebrations at the Methodist Church Ghana congregation in Sefwi Bodi.
Delivering a sermon themed “He Has Risen,” Reverend Stephen Acquah challenged public servants to abandon corruption and self-interest, urging them instead to embrace integrity and a sense of national duty.
The message, delivered during Resurrection Sunday service, placed emphasis on translating the significance of Jesus Christ’s resurrection into everyday actions that promote unity, love and accountability.
Rev. Acquah also encouraged Christians to go beyond symbolic celebrations by actively reconciling with one another and supporting the needy, noting that these acts define true Christian living.
He further raised concern about declining commitment to worship, urging believers to treat Sundays as sacred and dedicated to spiritual growth rather than competing personal activities.
The Easter observance, celebrated by Christians worldwide, continues to serve as a reminder of hope, renewal and sacrifice. In Ghana, festivities traditionally extend into Easter Monday, where communities gather for social events that bring the celebrations to a close.
The Sefwi Bodi service ultimately turned into a moment of reflection, urging both leaders and citizens to align their lives with values that foster trust, unity and national development.
