The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has announced plans to intensify disconnections of customers with outstanding electricity bills as part of a nationwide revenue mobilisation exercise scheduled to begin on Monday, November 9.
The exercise, which runs until Friday, November 27, 2026, will target customers across the residential, commercial and industrial sectors, as well as Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) with unpaid bills.
In a notice issued on Saturday, November 7, ECG urged customers to clear their arrears before the exercise begins to avoid disconnection and additional reconnection charges.
The company said it would deploy special monitoring teams to ensure compliance throughout the exercise.
It also warned that individuals found engaging in illegal electricity connections, interfering with its operations or reconnecting themselves without authorisation after disconnection would be arrested and prosecuted.
ECG further advised customers who are unable to access their bills to visit the nearest district office for assistance.
It encouraged consumers to settle their outstanding bills through approved payment platforms, including the ECG Mobile App.
“Customers with arrears are advised to pay their bills now to avoid disconnection, and payment of reconnection fees,” the company stated.
Customers requiring further assistance may contact ECG through its contact centre on 0302611611 or its social media platforms.
