The 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) was not just a celebration of musical excellence, but also a grand stage for fashion statements that reflected the diverse personalities and cultural pride of Ghana’s biggest stars.
This year’s red carpet, powered by GTP, broke away from the usual setup at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference Centre, giving attendees more room to showcase their creativity.
Cultural Pride and Regal Flair
Hiplife icon Okyeame Kwame made one of the boldest statements of the night, arriving in a stunning Pharaoh-inspired outfit, complete with a long, ornate crown. The ensemble was a powerful nod to African royalty and civilization, a reminder of the continent’s rich cultural heritage. “With this outfit, I am trying to remind young Africans that we come from royalty and civilization, and that is what this look represents,” he explained during a red carpet interview. His choice was a fitting reflection of his long-standing role as a cultural ambassador through music and fashion.
Glamour and Mystery
Actress Fella Makafui brought pure Hollywood glamor to the red carpet, stepping out in a sleek, shimmering gown that perfectly captured the spotlight. Known for her confident and stylish persona, Fella’s look was a head-turner, complete with glittery makeup that matched her bold fashion statement.
On the other end of the spectrum, rapper Medikal added a touch of mystery to the night with a dark, masked ensemble that completely covered his face. It was a look that sparked intrigue and conversation, adding a dramatic edge to the red carpet lineup.
Bold Color and Fearless Fashion
Beeztrap KOTM, the newly crowned New Artiste of the Year, brought a fresh burst of color to the evening, towering over the crowd in a striking pink suit that matched his confident energy. It was a daring choice that set him apart as one of the most fearless fashion risk-takers of the night.
Reigning Highlife Artiste of the Year, Fameye, took a more classic approach, blending formal and contemporary styles with a smart suit jacket, red loafers, and striped trousers. It was a polished look that captured his evolution as an artist.
Grace and Power on Display
Piesie Esther brought her signature grace to the red carpet, wearing a long, black, strapped gown that shimmered under the spotlight, perfectly complementing her powerful stage presence.
The night also saw appearances from style icons like Osebo the Zaraman, Elikem, Kofi Kinaata, Empress Gifty, Mr Drew, and others, each adding their unique flair to an unforgettable evening.
From royal-inspired regalia to bold color statements and masked mysteries, this year’s TGMA red carpet proved once again that fashion is more than just clothing – it’s a powerful form of self-expression and cultural celebration.
