Ghana National Gas Limited Company (GNGLC) has dismissed claims that recent maintenance work at the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant was unsuccessful, assuring stakeholders that the plant is operating optimally and supplying gas reliably to power producers and industrial users.
In a statement signed by Mr. Richard Ernest Kirk-Mensah, Head of Corporate Affairs at Ghana Gas, the company clarified that the allegations, which appeared on social media, were false and misleading. The planned maintenance included calibration of safety systems, an overhaul of the main transmission compressor, servicing of the heat medium system, and replacement of its fluid—tasks completed ahead of schedule and in strict accordance with international operational standards.
“The plant has been safely restarted and is functioning efficiently, which can be verified by our upstream and downstream partners,” the statement emphasized. It also highlighted that the company’s CEO and Deputy CEO for Technical and Operations commended the technical team for executing the work with excellence and professionalism.
Ghana Gas used the occasion to reinforce its commitment to energy security, urging the media and public to rely on official sources before disseminating information that could cause unwarranted concern.
The Atuabo Gas Processing Plant remains a critical component of Ghana’s energy infrastructure, providing a stable supply of gas that supports both electricity generation and industrial activity across the country.
