The Ghana Investment Promotion Authority (GIPA) is seeking to deepen investment partnerships between Ghana and Bavaria, with particular emphasis on agribusiness, food processing, technology transfer and industrial development.
Deputy Chief Executive Officer of GIPA, Abdul Razak Baba, outlined investment opportunities available to Bavarian companies during a business symposium and networking event held in Accra on September 22, 2026.
The event provided a platform for Bavarian businesses to engage Ghanaian institutions and explore potential areas for investment and commercial partnerships.
Mr Baba highlighted opportunities for German companies to collaborate with Ghanaian businesses in sectors with potential for value addition and industrial expansion.
He said partnerships in areas such as food processing and agribusiness could help strengthen production, processing and investment linkages while creating opportunities for technology and knowledge transfer.
The event was organised by the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana (AHK Ghana) in collaboration with the Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy and Bayern International.
It brought together representatives of Bavarian companies and key Ghanaian public institutions to examine opportunities for collaboration, particularly within the food and agribusiness sectors.
Among the Ghanaian institutions represented were the Food and Drugs Authority, Ghana Free Zones Authority, the 24-Hour Economy and Accelerated Export Development Secretariat, and the Council for Scientific and Industrial Research’s Food Research Institute.
Discussions during the engagement centred on how businesses from the two jurisdictions could establish partnerships, expand investment and promote industrial development.
The stakeholders also examined opportunities for technology transfer and increased value addition in Ghana’s agricultural and manufacturing sectors.
The engagement forms part of broader efforts to connect international investors with opportunities in Ghana while creating stronger links between foreign businesses and local institutions.
For GIPA, the engagement with Bavarian businesses provides an avenue to showcase Ghana’s investment opportunities and encourage partnerships that can contribute to industrialisation, job creation and the expansion of value-added production.
