The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MGCSP) has pledged its backing for a new child welfare campaign launched by Lynnex Ventures, aimed at addressing the needs of underprivileged children across the country.
At the launch of the “Save the Children” campaign in Accra, Madam Eugenia Dadson, who represented the Department of Children under the Ministry, stressed that while government has rolled out several child protection programmes, the support of private entities was vital in extending the reach of interventions.
She commended Lynnex Ventures for stepping in to complement state efforts. “This initiative is timely and in the right direction. The Ministry is ready to collaborate with Lynnex Ventures to ensure its success,” Madam Dadson assured.
The campaign, spearheaded by Lynnex Ventures, seeks to tackle pressing challenges such as poverty, homelessness, hunger, poor sanitation, and educational barriers confronting children from vulnerable backgrounds.
Chief Executive Officer of Lynnex Ventures, Madam Cynthia Raymond, explained that the initiative was born out of humanitarian concern and a desire to brighten the future of disadvantaged children. “It is a call to action for myself and the team to contribute to solving the increasing problems of vulnerable children,” she said.
Already, the campaign has provided support to children in the Nyame Ye Orphanage and Grace Foundation, with plans to expand its outreach nationwide. Madam Raymond also revealed her ambition to partner both local and international organisations to extend the project beyond Ghana.
With government endorsement and Lynnex Ventures’ commitment, the “Save the Children” campaign is expected to drive stronger collaboration between state and private actors in advancing child welfare.
