The Kwabena Mintah Akandoh, Minister of Health, has ordered the immediate suspension of the Principal of the Nurses and Midwifery Training College, Nalerugu following reports of unauthorized admissions at the institution.
The directive was issued during the Minister’s working tour of health facilities and training institutions across the Upper East, North-East, and Northern Regions. Preliminary investigations revealed that the college had admitted students outside established protocols, prompting swift action.
“I have directed the immediate suspension of the Head of this College pending further investigations,” Minister Akandoh stated. He emphasized that adherence to admission guidelines is non-negotiable and warned that any institutional head found violating established protocols would face strict sanctions.
The suspension signals the Ministry’s commitment to upholding standards in health training institutions and ensuring compliance with regulatory frameworks governing admissions.
