Residents of Kasoa woke up to sad news on Sunday after a 30-year-old Nigerian man was found dead beneath the Kasoa overhead bridge.
The deceased, once a phone accessories seller, had in recent months switched to truck pushing to earn a living. Local authorities believe his death may have been linked to prolonged illness and a lack of access to proper medical care.
Confirming the incident, Awutu Senya East NADMO Director, Mr. Narsh Nyandey, described the case as a reminder of the hardships faced by vulnerable members of the community, especially those far from home.
He called on the Nigerian community and all foreign nationals in the area to look out for one another’s welfare. “It’s important that we build strong support systems so no one suffers alone,” he urged.
The body has been handed over to the police and transferred to the mortuary as investigations continue.
The incident has sparked discussions about the need for stronger health support networks and early medical intervention for at-risk individuals in the municipality.
