Volta Regional Chief Manager of Ghana Water Company Limited (GWCL), Ing. Francis Lamptey, has called on Ghanaian workers across all sectors to uphold integrity, honesty, and patriotism as essential pillars for national development.
Speaking to Class News after being honoured at the 2025 National Workers’ Day celebration in Accra, Ing. Lamptey emphasized that genuine commitment to duty, rather than eye-service, is what earns lasting recognition and drives real progress in institutions.
“People are observing your actions at the workplace, and the impact of your commitment does not go unnoticed,” he said, reflecting on the values that earned him the national award.
The Public Utility Workers Union (PUWU) of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) presented Ing. Lamptey with a special citation for his years of dedicated service and impactful leadership. The award was handed to him by President John Dramani Mahama, an unexpected honour that Lamptey described as a “grace of God.”
The citation, signed by TUC Secretary General Joshua Ansah, acknowledged Lamptey’s outstanding contributions, particularly in his role as the first Senior Staff National Divisional Chairman of GWCL.
He used the occasion to encourage Ghanaian workers to pursue personal growth through academic advancement and embrace challenges with honesty and diligence to help transform the country.
Lamptey also expressed appreciation to his staff and reaffirmed GWCL Volta Region’s commitment to providing reliable water access to all households.
His message serves as a reminder that ethical values and dedication remain key drivers of both personal and national success.
