Nigerian gospel singer Judikay has recounted a difficult childbirth experience, describing a prolonged labour process that tested her physically and emotionally before the safe delivery of her baby.
She explained that although contractions had begun, they were not strong enough to progress labour as expected, leaving her exhausted and in significant pain.
Feeling overwhelmed, she requested medical staff to reassess her condition, suspecting she may have reached full dilation.
After confirmation that she was fully dilated, she was able to proceed with delivery and successfully gave birth.
However, she revealed that complications were discovered immediately after birth, as the baby’s umbilical cord was found wrapped around the neck twice.
Despite the situation, the baby survived, and Judikay expressed gratitude for what she described as a safe outcome under challenging circumstances.
She noted that the experience was emotionally intense for her husband, who remained in prayer throughout the delivery process.
Reflecting on the ordeal, she said the moment deepened her faith and appreciation for what she described as a preserved life, expressing gratitude for the outcome of both mother and child.
