The second phase of the “Light Up Ketu North” initiative, spearheaded by the Member of Parliament for Ketu North, Mr Eric Edem Agbana, has been successfully completed, with a third phase set to roll out in the coming months.
Launched in 2025, the project focuses on the installation, repair, and restoration of streetlights across key roads and communities in the constituency to enhance security, improve visibility, and support local economic activity after dark.
The latest phase was executed through a collaboration between the MP’s office and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), which carried out extensive repairs and replacement of faulty lighting systems in multiple communities.
The intervention also builds on earlier efforts that saw streetlights distributed to all electoral areas through assembly members to support wider coverage.
Communities benefiting from the recent works include Dzodze, Penyi, Ehi, Agorve, Afife, Weta, Xipe, Devego, Dekpor, Adzoatsi, Atsikpey and several adjoining settlements and junctions across the constituency.
Mr Agbana reaffirmed his commitment to extending lighting infrastructure to all parts of Ketu North, describing the initiative as central to improving safety and boosting socio-economic life in the area.
He expressed appreciation to traditional leaders, opinion leaders, and residents for their continued support in implementing the project, noting that community cooperation has been key to its progress.
The project is expected to continue into its third phase as part of a broader effort to fully illuminate the constituency.
