In a proactive move to tackle the issue of uncollected Ghana Cards in Krachi East Municipality, Municipal Chief Executive Mr. Safo Nketia has engaged with the National Identification Authority (NIA) to explore strategies that will encourage residents to claim their vital identification documents.
Highlighting the Ghana Card’s critical role in identity verification and access to essential services, Mr. Nketia acknowledged that many citizens may have overlooked or faced difficulties collecting their cards. To bridge this gap, he proposed community outreach programs, door-to-door campaigns, and increased local media awareness as practical solutions.
The MCE assured full backing from the Municipal Assembly to drive these initiatives forward, aiming to ensure all residents can benefit from the Ghana Card’s advantages.
During the discussions, NIA’s Municipal Director, Mr. Jacob Sey, appealed for support from the Assembly to overcome operational hurdles, such as the need for printing machines and office renovations. He expressed optimism that collaborative efforts would enhance the NIA’s capacity to efficiently serve the municipality.
This partnership signals a renewed commitment by local authorities to improve identity management systems, strengthen service delivery, and promote inclusivity in Krachi East.
