Swedru All Blacks head coach Kassim Ocansey Mingle has expressed confidence that his side should have been competing at the top end of the Ghana Premier League table rather than battling relegation.
The coach made the remarks after All Blacks secured their Premier League status with a crucial 2–1 victory over Kumasi Asante Kotoko on the final day of the 2025–2026 season at the Baba Yara Stadium.
Rudolf Mensah, who netted his 11th league goal of the season, played a decisive role in the win that ensured survival for the newly promoted side. The forward, formerly of Liberty Professionals, had earlier powered All Blacks’ return to the top flight with an impressive 27 goals in 30 Division One League matches.
Reflecting on the season, Mingle admitted his team underperformed relative to its potential.
“We shouldn’t have been where we are now; we would have been competing for the top four, but it’s good we’ve survived,” he said.
He added that the club’s focus is now shifting towards rebuilding for a stronger campaign next season.
“We are going to rebuild the team and next season we will be competing for the top four,” he stated.
Despite a difficult season, the dramatic victory over Kotoko capped a survival campaign that has now set the tone for ambitious restructuring ahead of the next league season.
