Fuel consumers should prepare for slight increases at the pumps as the National Petroleum Authority (NPA) introduces new minimum price thresholds for petroleum products for the first pricing window of March 2026.
The revised price floors, which take effect from March 1 to March 15, set petrol at GHS 10.46 per litre, up from GHS 10.24 in the February 16 window. Diesel will also rise marginally from GHS 11.34 to GHS 11.42 per litre.
However, there is a modest relief for LPG users, as the price of liquefied petroleum gas drops slightly to GHS 9.38 per kilogram, down from GHS 9.43.
Under the new directive, no Oil Marketing Company (OMC) or LPG Marketing Company (LPGMC) is allowed to sell below the approved minimum prices during the period. Companies currently offering lower pump prices are required to adjust upward to meet the new regulatory benchmarks.
The adjustment underscores the NPA’s ongoing efforts to regulate pricing within the petroleum downstream sector while maintaining market stability.
