The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has announced strict identification requirements for delegates ahead of its national officers’ elections scheduled for Saturday, October 3, 2026.
Under arrangements released by the party’s National Officers Elections Committee (NOEC), the Electoral Commission (EC) will verify every delegate against the official delegates’ register before allowing them to vote.
Delegates are required to present at least one valid identification document, with the party accepting the Ghana Card, Voter ID card or NPP party card for the verification exercise.
The NPP has therefore urged all eligible delegates to arrive early and come along with the required identification to avoid delays at the voting centres.
The national conference will begin with consideration of proposed amendments to the party’s constitution at 9:00 a.m., followed by the election of national officers from 12:00 p.m.
Voting will be conducted across 31 polling stations, with delegates electing officers to nine national executive positions.
The positions include National Chairperson, Vice Chairpersons, General Secretary, National Treasurer, National Organiser, National Women’s Organiser, National Youth Organiser, National Nasara Organiser and National Communications Director.
The NOEC has urged constituency, regional and national officers, as well as delegates, to adhere to the programme and make adequate time for the verification process before voting begins.
The October 3 elections form part of the NPP’s preparations to reorganise its national leadership ahead of the 2028 general election.
