Ghana defender Jerome Opoku says the Black Stars can draw encouragement from their 1-1 draw with Wales in Cardiff as they continue preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Although disappointed not to have secured victory, Opoku believes the team delivered a disciplined and encouraging performance that reflects steady progress under the current setup.
He noted that Ghana created enough opportunities and showed strong organisation throughout the game, but were ultimately undone by small details.
According to him, those fine margins will be a key area of focus as the squad continues to build chemistry ahead of the tournament.
Opoku added that the short time the team has had together makes their level of cohesion even more promising, stressing that there is still room for improvement.
He maintained that the performance offers a solid foundation for future matches as Ghana fine-tunes its preparations for the World Cup.
