Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey is set to make a return to the Black Stars after being named in Ghana’s 23-man squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Chad and Madagascar. Partey, who missed the previous call-up due to injury, will provide a major boost for Ghana as they look to bounce back from their disappointment of missing out on the 2025 AFCON.
Coach Otto Addo’s squad also includes familiar names such as captain Jordan Ayew and star midfielder Mohammed Kudus, who will be key to Ghana’s hopes of securing six points from their next two games. The Black Stars currently aim to strengthen their position in Group I as they continue their journey toward the 2026 World Cup.
A notable highlight of the squad is the inclusion of three home-based players: Benjamin Asare (Hearts of Oak), Kamaradini Mamudu (Medeama SC), and Razak Simpson (Nations FC), reflecting Otto Addo’s confidence in the Ghana Premier League talents. In addition, Christopher Bonsu Baah of Genk has earned his first-ever call-up following his impressive performances in Belgium.
The Black Stars will first take on Chad at the Accra Sports Stadium on March 21, 2025, before heading to Morocco for their clash with Madagascar on March 24.
